March 30, 2022 – Celero has attained its first Systems and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type I Compliance, representing a key milestone in the ongoing advancement of our data management and protection practices.
A widely recognized auditing standard, the SOC 2 certification is based on a framework developed by American Institute of CPAs. The framework is intended to assess risk with services provided by a service organization. It uses set criteria for managing customer data based on five trust service principles – security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy.
The SOC 2 audit, which was conducted by Deloitte, reviewed Celero’s technology systems, supporting technologies and hosted environments and determined that Celero was aligned with the set criteria and compliance has been achieved.
“As the custodian of critical data and information for the Canadian credit union system, Celero is committed to continuously analyzing and advancing our data management practices. The achievement of an independently verified SOC 2 Type I compliance demonstrates to our current and future clients that we have the processes and controls to protect customer data and other confidential information,” says Matt Laba, Chief Information Security Officer, Celero.
Celero is currently pursuing its SOC 2 Type II compliance as it continually seeks to advance our data integrity, security and privacy practices. For more information about Celero, visit celero.ca.
